Reginald Porter-Brown , now regularly broadcasting from the Forum Cinema, Southampton, and the Guildhall, Southampton, was born at Worsboro' Dale, near Barnsley, and was assistant organist at various Barnsley churches when he was only eleven years old. He was teaching when he was twelve, and choirmaster when he was sixteen.
His record on the air has been remarkable. Only twenty-seven now, he was the youngest of the four organists who opened the BBC Theatre Organ at St. George's Hall, London. In his five years of broadcasting he has made his signature tune, 'Oh, Mr. Porter', as famous as his name, and receives fan-mail from all over the world.
