Presented by JOHN SHARMAN
In an article in last week's Radio Times John Sharman spoke of his difficulties in booking first-rate acts for ' Music-Hall ' throughout the year. Tonight brings one of his triumphs, for that great comedian, Ralph Lynn , of Aldwych farce fame, is to broadcast in his particular metier for the first time. It would be his radio debut but for a talk on Bournemouth which 'he gave from Bournemouth a few weeks ago.
He helped to write the sketch in which he is to play tonight, and it is based on his ideas. He has also written a sketch, with a Scottish atmosphere, in which he is shortly to appear in a kilt on music-hall stages throughout the country.
News about others in tonight's bill is that McNaughton, of Stanford and McNaughton, is the son of one of the two McNaughtons, the famous double act (the partners have broadcast many times) ; Jack Daly , a broth of a boy, was a serious ballad singer until a mule kicked him into the orchestra pit (the laughter of the audience proved he was a comedian) ; Jane Ayr (not of Bronte fame) is a niece of Andre Messager , and Eddie Leslie a son of Fred VVhittaker , a famous pantomime cat ; Bunny Dovle , fra' Yorkshire, has just finished playing Rudolph in The Sleeping Beauty at Birmingham ; while that great favourite, Renee Houston , with her partner Donald Stewart , is to make a welcome reappearance in ' Music-Hall', ', and doubtless will make things lively for Charles Shadwell , to the delight of listeners and the audience.

The BBC Theatre Orchestra
Leader, Tate Gilder
Conductor, Stanford Robinson in a popular operatic programme with Dino Borgioli (tenor)
Dino Borgioli , star of this evening's presentation, is internationally famous as a concert singer, and can sing with equal accomplishment in five languages.
He was bom in Florence in 1896, and studied under Giachetti, the famous teacher of bel canto. He first made his name when he sang in I Puritani, and subsequently established his reputation by appearances in Favorita, Sonambula, Don Pas quale, The Barber of Seville, Susanna's Secret, and other operas. He made his name at Covent Garden in Manon and La Traviata.
Borgioli has sung regularly at
Salzburg under Toscanini and Bruno Walter , and makes regular appearances at Glyndebourne, where this year he is going to sing in Don Giovanni. He has sung in most of the world's famous opera houses, and has just returned from a successful tour of the U.S.A. and Australia.
