A cage is jammed three hundred feet from the bottom of a Yorkshire mine shaft. A trolley sticking half way out is the cause. Underneath the trolley young Jimmy Winterbottom lies injured and trapped. To move the cage means he will be crushed to death. Somehow he has to be rescued.
