1 — 'The Stormcoc'
H. Mortimer Batten began making up animal stories a long time ago when he was a small boy. He would tell them to the other boys in his school dormi- tory, and no doubt he kept them wide awake. If he got into trouble for doing this, it was well worth it, for he has lived with animals ever since and found out all their ways.

by Sir Arthur Grimble

The late Sir Arthur Grimble has come to represent in the mind of his readers and listeners the prototype of the devoted and disinterested Colonial Governor.
The kind of disinterested devotion which he in his time inspired in the breast of Mautake, Chief Headman of Tarawa, is described in the fifth and final talk in the present series.
