Three eye-witness accounts of famous battlefields
1 — Corunna
Taken from the ' Diary ' of Henry Crabb Robinson
Reader, Simon Lack
Henry Crabb Robinson went to Spain at the start of the Peninsular War as correspondent for The Times. There, he unexpectedly found himself involved in the retreat of Sir John Moore's army and its evacuation from Corunna. What happened to him then, as recorded in his diary, recalls the experiences of men caught in similar situations in the days befor Dunkirk.
