There was excitement when Nat, Pen, and young Jonty came upon the men who had robbed Rolandright Hall , but now they have an envelope containing their final ' sealed orders ' from Uncles William and Rodney, and twenty-four hours in which to reach their destination. They have to find a spot, within a radius of eighty miles, where people used to live in houses built on stilts. A quickly drawn circle includes ' Isle of Ely, part of Holland,' the once-flooded country of -East Anglia. But the course of true adventure doesn't run smoothly: the root of the trouble lies in that hastily drawn circle.
