The Hostel of God was founded in 1889, and is neither controlled nor supported by the state. There are fifty beds, and under construction is a new wing to take an additional twenty-five patients. The majority of patients, 92 per cent of them suffering from cancer, come from the larger hospitals, with whom the closest touch is maintained.
Income in 1951 was £ 12,000 and expenditure C17,000 whilst the new wing is costing £ 40,000 to build and equip.

9 — ' A Letter from Zurich '
Characters in order of speaking:
Produced by David H. Godfrey
Captain Wragge, his wife, and Magdalen Vanstone are now living under the assumed name of Bygrave in the East coast town of AJdborough. An illness is invented for Magdalen which keeps her indoors, thereby serving the double purpose of preventing Mrs. Lecount from establishing Magdalen's identity, and of fostering No;l Vanstone's growing affection for her. Just as it appears that all plans are proceeding satisfactorily, Mrs. Lecount receives a letter from Miss Garth, and again it seems that Captain Wragge and Magdalen are on the brink of dejection.
