Group Captain W. Helmore
Many listeners who have enjoyed Group Captain Helmore's previous talks in ' War Commentary ' will have recognised a voice that came to them as a pre-war friend. For many years he broadcast from Schneider Trophy races, air pageants, and starts of great air contests. In his own words, he came to the microphone for War Commentary as one who for years had attended rehearsals of plays and was now talking about a first-night.
