Lead Shot Tower
Once upon a time a workman engaged on the roof of a Bristol church- fell asleep by the tower. It began to rain, and the raindrops on his face brought about a curious dream. He dreamt that his wife was on top of the tower pouring down boiling lead on to him. The dream preyed on him and he experimented and built a tower. Lead dropped through it, hardened as it fell. The tower still exists ; and lead shot is still made there in that way.
