George Black , who has thirty-six theatres under his control, has been in the business since he was twelve years old, when he started life looking after a flea circus for his father. He served throughout the Great War as a private in the Northumberland Fusiliers and rose to the rank of Lance-Corporal !
After the war he decided to revive
Variety, which the critics said was dead. His Crazy Gang shows were an accident. Crazy Weeks developed into Crazy Months. The Little Dog Laughed has just passed its 250th performance at the London Palladium, and his Black Velvet is one of the best revues in town. He gives tonight's broadcast as his contribution to the Forces in memory of his days in the ranks in the Great War.
