at the organ of the Paramount Theatre, Tottenham Court Road, London
Five Medleys - 1 For the Irish. 2 For the Welsh. 3 For the Scots. 4 For the English. 5 For Everybody - arranged by Al Bollington
Al Bollington spent much of his boyhood playing the piano in the Derbyshire village of his birth, teaching it to children, and serving them with sweets in his parents' sweet-shop. Memories of those days inspired him to organise his Christmas and New Year parties when he toured the Paramount theatres a year ago. While he played, tables in the orchestra pit were heaped with cakes and crackers, and children invited to come up and enjoy them.
He succeeded Reginald Foort at the Paramount Theatre, Tottenham Court Road, and played on the BBC Theatre Organ in all Geraldo's 'Romance in Rhythm' and 'Dancing Through' programmes. He is likely to please everybody in the medleys he has chosen for today. Signature tune, 'Bolero'.
