3/3. The series of tributes to the late John Betjeman concludes with a personal accolade from his friend and former colleague, Dan Cruickshank. The pair worked together at The Architectural Review and headed a campaign to save the Georgian houses of Spitalfields in the City of London - where Dan now lives. Focusing on the poet's two major influences - London and Metroland - the architectural historian tries to look beyond Betjeman's perceived eccentricity and uncover his true nature. Metro-Land is on BBC4 at 10pm.
