We Stand Alone Together - the Men of Easy Company 9.00pm BBC2
For anyone whose Friday nights just aren't the same now that Band of Brothers has finished, here's something to keep you going little bit longer - a documentary featuring the real-life members of Easy Company.
Much of this is greatly moving and you will doubtless share the tears of Major Richard Winters (played by Damian Lewis in the series) when he recalls a question from his young grandson, who asked: "'Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?' Grandpa said no, but I served in a company of heroes."
The men reminisce about the real-life incidents that were so vividly brought to life in Band of Brothers from their tough training regime in Georgia through Operation Market Garden to liberate Holland, from the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne to the taking of Hitler's Eagle's Nest in Bavaria, which signalled the end of the war in Europe.
The real-life testimonies of these "ordinary" extraordinary men are vivid and moving and We Stand Alone Together is a fine complementary documentary to an exceptional series. (Alison Graham)
