In the Church of Scotland Service, the Sacrament of Baptism is administered to infants 'in face of the Congregation' after the parents have professed their Christian Faith and promised to bring up their children in it. The Congregation receives these infants into its Fellowship.

For this appeal, the Dean of Gloucester speaks from one of the many beautiful historic churches in this country. England possesses some 10,000 of these valuable churches, most of which were built in the Middle Ages. The Historic Churches Preservation Trust helps to preserve these ancient buildings by assisting with repairs which are beyond local resources.
