In 1990 Public Enemy released an album called Fear of a Black Planet. Enclosed with critics' copies was a controversial pamphlet: The Cress Theory of Color Confrontation and Racism. The effect was like a small bomb going off. Harry Allen was responsible for that little pamphlet.
