Quartet Competition
The three finalists of the competition show their mettle at the Wigmore Hall.
They each have to nominate one quartet composed between 1827 and 1907 and another from 1908 to the present day, of which they are asked to perform one. Selected composers include
Mendelssohn, Brahms, Ravel, Janacek, Shostakovich and Prokofiev. Presented by Stephanie Hughes.

Bach St Matthew Passion, BWV244

The Dedication Orchestra. Jez Nelson focuses on this group of 25 of the country's leading improvisers, including Lol Coxhill (soprano saxophone), Evan Parker (tenor saxophone), Paul Rutherford (trombone), Paul Rogers (bass), Chris Biscoe (baritone saxophone) and Keith Tippett (piano). Inspired by the Blue Notes, who were fundamental in shaping the Londonjazz scene of the 60s and 70s, the group is driven by the powerhouse drumming of the only surviving member of the original Blue Notes line-up, Louis Moholo.
