by William Congreve , adapted by Kevin Elyot. The first of four Sunday Plays featuring classics of Restoration drama.
Congreve's brilliant comedy was written in 1693 when he was 23. A house party gathers in celebration of an impending marriage. Little do the bride and groom realise what plots are afoot to prevent their ever reaching the altar. The play features original music by Henry Purcell.
