by Amos Oz, dramatised by Guy Meredith.

The story is an ingeniously constructed correspondence between an Israeli war hero, his ex-wife, their son, her new husband and a lawyer. It is the evidence, the "black box", for a catastrophe of human relationships.

This dramatisation of the book by Israel's finest novelist stars husband and wife Jill Gascoine and Alfred Molina as the divorced couple, with Jill's son taking the role of their son in the drama.

With David Thorpe, Teresa Gallagher, Oona Beeson, Mia Soteriou and Ofer Farag.
Director Ned Chaillet

Presented by George Guest. Mendelssohn Elijah
First performed in 1846 in Birmingham under the composer's direction, Elijah has remained a firm favourite with choral societies.
Mendelssohn prepared the libretto himself - an account of the turbulent life of the Old Testament prophet, who is forced to endure not only famine and the wicked King Ahab, but even the wrath of his own people.
In the programme, George guest talks to
Philippe Herreweghe , one of France's leading choral conductors. (bass)
