In 1869, at Verdi's instigation, a Requiem Mass was written by 13 Italian composers in commemoration of the first anniversary of Rossini's death. The composers were Antonio Buzzolla ,
Antonio Bazzini , Carlo Pedrotti , Antonio Cagnoni ,
Raimondo Boucheron , Carlo Coccia ,
Gaetano Gaspari , Pietro Platania , Lauro Rossi , Teodulo Mabellini ,
