Dufay(c 1400-74)
Dufay is generally recognised as one of the greatest composers of the 15th century. He numbered among his patrons the papal court, the nobility of Ferrara and Savoy, and the cathedral church of his home town of Cambrai, with its fine musical tradition.
These early songs were composed in his native France, and in the first years of his career in Italy.
