In Westminster Abbey
At the invitation of the Dean and Chapter, Archbishop Basil Hume. on the evening of his Installation as Archbishop of Westminster on 25 March. joined 140 English Benedictine monks in Westminster Abbey to sing in Latin the Vespers for the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The service is introduced by The Very Rev Edward Car penter, Dean of Westminster.

Miss Marryat stayed in Winchester in 1863, and her novel contains a thinly disguised portrait of the city and of the leading members of the cathedral circle, including S. S. Wesley himself, who appears as ' Dr Nesbitt.'
