Edward Carpenter. Dean of Westminster Abbey, declares. ' I have been very lucky to have been exposed to good music whether I wished it or not. This has generated an interest and educated me into a musical taste which has brought with it rare satisfaction.' For instance, he has ' caught by contagion ' a love of Bach and he includes the Passacaglia in c minor in his personal choice of records. Also music for Easter week by Handel, the Largo from Dvorak's New World Symphony. Psalm 84 sung by the choir of Westminster Abbey and ' Sound the trumpet ' by Henry Purcell who was once organist there.
