A comedy by George Etherege, Esq. acted at His Highnesse the Duke of York's Theatre
Printed for H. Herrlngman, at the Sign of the Blew Anchor An the Lower walk of the New Exchange, 1668.
Music composed and directed by Donald Swann

A colourfully etched image of London three centuries ago, its inns and arbours, with two men-about-town courting two pert country girls; a flighty county lady and a lustful knight thwarted in their amorous pursuits: a gent from the seedier side of society bragging to no purpose: and a rollicking squire catching a wily servant girl. An early restoration comedy with gay songs and some shrewd observation of manners.
With
Robert Eddison
Michael Flanders , Bill Fraser
Hattie Jacques , Ian Richardson Prunella Scales , and Stephanie Voss
Dramatis Personae:
Produced by H. B. Fortuin
(Stephanie Voss is in 'The Four Musketeers' at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. London; Ian Richardson is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company)
