The Freemasons
Since publication in February this year, Stephen Knight's book The Brotherhood has stirred up a controversy that has caused embarrassment to both the judiciary and Scotland Yard.
At best, the Freemasons are described as 'a good body of men devoted to all that's best in the British social system'.
But their critics maintain that 'in all conscience no active Christian could remain a Freemason.'
Stephen Knight is in the studio to answer your questions. Sue MacGregor is in the Chair. Produced by the Woman's Hour unit

A two-part celebration of Laurie Lee 's classic, Cider with Rosie.
2: An End to Hunger
Before the book's publication, Laurie Lee conformed to the traditional image of a young man struggling to have his talent recognised ... living in a garret on a diet of pig's liver and toast. Its success changed all that: he moved out of the garret, improved his diet and bought his first overcoat.
In this second programme, he and his family talk to
Marjorie Lofthouse about life after Cider. Laurie admits to the dangers of being well-fed, while his publisher agonises over the problem of getting his hands on the third volume of his autobiography.

Professor Alan Gemmell finishes this series of visits to some of his favourite gardens at Dougarie in Scotland.
This garden, lying close to the shore on the west coast of the Isle of Arran, in the middle of the Firth of Clyde, is a fine example of what can be achieved when adequate shelter is provided for plants, fruit and vegetables.
