Christianity and Ihe World Order
The Rev Dr Edward Norman , Dean of Peterhouse, Cam-bridge, begins his series of six talks. 1: The Political
Christ Dr Norman takes issue with those who are reinterpreting Christianity as a scheme of social and political action. He argues that in their death agonies the western Churches are distributing the causes of their sickness - the politicisation of religion - to their healthy offspring in the developing world. The politicisation of Christianity in the western world takes the form of identifying Christian teachings with the moral outlook and political ideas of liberalism. Are there distinctly Christian reasons for regarding its principles as more compatible with the teachings of Christ than other and rival political outlooks?
