A new paper from the Express Group, the Daily Star, is launched tonight. By morning over a million copies will be on sale throughout the North and Midlands - the first stage of a three-stage plan to challenge the Sun and the Mirror, Britain's largest circulation dailies. Reporting live from the Star's Manchester headquarters as the first edition goes to press, George Scott tells the story of the hectic weeks leading up to tonight's launch.
