To cull or not to cullt
Within the next few weeks some 2.000 grey seals are due to be shot on the Fame Islands off the coast of Northumberland - shot for the good of the seal colony as a whole. What lies behind this decision? Is the cull fully justified? And will it really have the desired effect?
These questions are discussed by NIGEL BONNER of the Seals Research Unit, JOHN COULSON , and JOHN WORKMAN of the National Trust.
