Some Spanish Echoes and Shadows. Gwyn Thomas spent the summer of 1933 wandering through Spain to research modern Spanish history. There, he says. ' the premonitory gasps and grunts of the great struggle soon to erupt, could be heard on every wind'. After 1945 he spent three further periods in Spain, and in the programme, he explains the changing light in which he has seen the country since he first set foot in it.
