Genetic Engineering
Man has always dreamed of manipulating life. For years, gardeners have grafted plants and farmers have cross-bred cattle to improve their stock. Now, scientists can splice genes in order to create hybrids that don't naturally exist. Could these techniques contribute to a cure for cancer? Or might careless experimentation lead to a disastrous epidemic? Should scientists, or should society as a whole have the say in how far we go? Dr Waller Bodmer , FRs, Director of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund Laboratories, and former Professor of Genetics at Oxford University, and Bob Williamson. Professor of Biochemistry at the University of London and Member of the Genetic Manipulation Advisory Group, join Sue Mac Gregor to answer your questions.

At the Tennis Club by ARTHUR FREWIN. With Ann Bell , William Nighy Every Saturday Mrs Blunt 's children went to the Tennis Club, where they met their friends and saw the officers stationed in the town play some dashing games of tennis. There would seem to be no reason why this should cause a mother any anguish, but this is Tipperary in 1920 and one particular Saturday turns into a private hell for Mrs Blunt.

3: Spanish Temper: All or Nothing
In the third of six talks on his travels round Spain and Portugal this summer, novelist Joseph Hone comes down from the high Pyrenees into the green and gold landscapes of Aragon and Navarra and then on to Pamplona, epicentre of Hemingway's Spanish cult. But where is the Pride and the Passiont Pamplona today concerns itself with darker - and duller - matters.
