Live coverage of the world's biggest half-marathon, now in its 23rd year, in which 47,000 entrants will tackle the 13.1-mile course from Newcastle to the coast at South Shields.

The event begins at 10.10 with the wheelchair race. At 10.15, it's the elite women, featuring marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe, back from the injury that kept her out of the world championships. She takes on half-marathon world record holder and Great North Run champion Susan Chepkemei of Kenya, Olympic and former world 10,000m champion Derartu Tulu of Ethiopia and Olympic 10,000m gold medallist Fernanda Ribeiro of Portugal.

And at 10.40 the elite men - and the rest of the runners - should be led by world half-marathon champion Paul Kosgei of Kenya and former Olympic 5,000m gold medallist Dieter Baumann of Germany. Special mention should also go to the event's founder, Brendan Foster, who takes part this year.

Presented by Sue Barker, with commentary by Steve Cram, Paul Dickenson, Charlie Spedding and Liz McColgan.
