Silliness back on Saturdays
"We were CBBC geeks together eight years ago", says Richard McCourt (left in pic), explaining how he met fellow Dick and Dom in da Bungalow (9.00am BBC1, CBBC) presenter Dominic Wood. "We were both new to London and, eventually, I moved into the house where Rich was living", says Wood. They've both moved since, but they're still best mates. "We spark off each other. You can't fake chemistry on screen", says Wood. Now their brand of mayhem goes out on Saturdays on BBC1 as well as the CBBC channel. "Eight- to twelve-year-olds have been wondering where all the silliness is on TV," says McCourt. "Saturday shows have got tame. We don't have celebrity guests, pop bands, a flashy set or lighting", agrees Wood. "The main thing is bringing ourselves and the show to the level of the people watching".
