[Photo caption] Thought process: Duffy (Catherine Shipton) waits for Charlie (Derek Thompson) to decide... in Casualty
Drama: Casualty: 8.05pm BBC1
"So, when are you coming back, then?" asks everybody of Charlie (Derek Thompson). After the cliffhanger ending of the last series in which he collapsed suffering from a pulmonary embolism, he has recovered enough to return to Bristol but is unsure as to what to do with the rest of his life. A beautifully acted storyline between himself and the fast-maturing Honeysuckle Weeks as a depressed mother will make up his mind. Plenty of familiar faces such as Duffy (Catherine Shipton) return and some new characters are introduced including health service assistant Spencer (Ben Keaton), a recovering alcoholic trying to put his life back on track, manipulatively clever A&E manager Dan Robinson (Grant Masters) and Colette (Adjoa Andoh), the new F-grade nurse.
