Casualty 8.20pm BBC1
Paramedic Liz Harker (Sue Devaney) joins the mass exodus of staff from Holby City hospital as she sets off for a trek around Central America. But not before one of the toughest shirts of her career, where she demonstrates how much her calming demeanour will be missed.
When a deranged school teacher realises his wife is about to leave him, he goes berserk and an ambulance is summoned. Josh and Liz are called away from their ice cream break to deal with the ensuing injuries, unaware of the true nature of the situation they are about to encounter. Some genuinely scary moments lift this episode out of the ordinary.
