Dangerfield
9.30pm BBC1
Dangerfield's new producer Peter Wolfes recently promised Radio Times readers some pretty wacky, off-the-wall stories and tonight's fable about an eccentric old man bullied by a group of schoolchildren certainly fits into that category.
For Dr Paul Dangerfield it is a particularly disturbing case as the whisky-drinking William Ashurst, full of bravado but with little real confidence, is an old friend of his father. With his high blood pressure, William should be taking things quietly but when his small dog bites a local boy, he finds himself in the police station with all his neighbours apparently set against him.
As Dangerfield works out how best to intervene, he takes advice from bereavement counsellor Liz Moss, a good friend destined to become rather more by the end of this episode.
Western directed by and starring Clint Eastwood
