Billy Connolly returns to the River Clyde where, as a youth, he served as a welder's apprentice. On his way to perform in Stirling, he points out Bannockburn, site of the pitched battle between the Scots and the English, and after the show he heads for Scone Palace and the Forth Bridge.

Films reviewed this evening include Forget Paris starring Billy Crystal and Debra Winger. When Crystal takes his dead father back to France, a chance encounter with an airline executive leads to love.
Funny Bones stars Jerry Lewis, young British comic Lee Evans and Oliver Platt and tells the story of a struggling comedian who returns to England to track down the origin of the humour that made his father a success.
Also, director Terence Davies and star Gena Rowlands talk about The Neon Bible, recently screened in competition at Cannes.
And a vintage year is remembered with the films and events of 1955, a year which saw the deaths of James Dean and Carmen Miranda and the births of Kevin Costner and Bruce Willis. (Stereo)
