Billy Connolly returns to the River Clyde where, as a youth, he served as a welder's apprentice. On his way to perform in Stirling, he points out Bannockburn, site of the pitched battle between the Scots and the English, and after the show he heads for Scone Palace and the Forth Bridge.
Robert Harris's Fatherland was a publishing phenomenon, the most successful first novel by a British author in the past 20 years. Now he's releasing his second novel, Enigma, which looks like being the publishing event of the year.
