999 Lifesavers
8.00pm BBC 1
Twenty-three year old Elizabeth Bowden was cycling along the Manchester Ship Canal when she lost control of her bike and fell in. It was only due to a series of happy accidents that she didn't drown: she was spotted by a passer-by who alerted the lock keeper who managed, with a colleague, to haul her out and give her the kiss of life.
999 Lifesavers is back with the now familiar blend of nail-biting reconstructions and useful information, which should hopefully turn us into a nation of heroic rescuers prepared to spring into action. Michael Buerk and Juliet Morris present as usual.
