Debbie Thrower and Robbie Vincent
Day 2
During an average day about 1,000 people will attend outpatient clinics at St Mary's and Queen Alexandra's in Portsmouth; 100 or so will have operations, and about 900 of the available hospital beds will be occupied. Some of these patients share their continuing experiences of hospital life.

Last year there was much concern about crime and violence in some Spanish holiday resorts, leading the authorities to set in motion a high-profile law-enforcement campaign. Sarah Kennedy travelled to Benidorm to look at a day in the life of a tourist resort and discover how effective the policing has been. The Nile, which nourished the civilisations of ancient
Egypt, has long been a magnet for travellers and explorers, many of whom seek to fulfil a romantic dream along its waters.
Journeying through upper Egypt, John Carter takes a voyage into the past.
Bill Buckley takes to the skies over Yorkshire for this week's activity holiday report. The object of the exercise was to learn to pilot a glider in just five days. Did he do it? Watch and find out. In the studio, information to help you plan your holiday, at home and abroad. Producer TOM SAVAGE
