There's a lot happening in store this morning. Only problem is, there's less time to do it in! Today sees start of National Astronomy Week.
London's annual day of celebration as the new Lord Mayor Sir Allan Davis, makes his first public appearance. Traditionally he parades through the streets in his Golden Coach amid a procession nearly two miles long. From a vantage point outside St Paul's Cathedral BBC cameras bring live coverage as the 15 bands, 58 floats and contingents from all three Armed Services form a colourful and spectacular parade before the thousands of people lining the route. Sentenced to two years' imprisonment with a Southern chain-gang, Luke Jackson soon becomes a hero to his fellow prisoners. His toughness and disrespect for the 'system', carry him through a series of adventures - including two escape attempts. But eventually the guards break his spirit.... or do they?
Superstar Newman gives one of his most vivid portrayals as Luke, superbly supported by Kennedy in his Oscar-winning role as Dragline.
