The Long Watch
Fifty Years of Radar with William Woollard It all began 50 years ago in a muddy field in Northamptonshire with three scientists, an RAF bomber and a borrowed BBC short-wave transmitter. The experiment was to lead to the radar which won the Battle of Britain and defeated the U-boats in the Atlantic.
Today civil airlines could not operate without it, neither could the space programme. Radar also forms NATO's first line of defence in the cold war; it has come a long way from that muddy field.

The award-winning film story that touched the hearts of the nation-now a trilogy, to bring it up to date.
1: The Boy David
He was the baby from the Peruvian jungle abandoned in a paupers' hospital, the centre of his face destroyed by disease. He has become a miracle of surgical achievement - and of love-since Ian Jackson , the distinguished plastic surgeon, took on the job of rebuilding his face. And the whole Jackson family took on the job of giving him a home -and family.
One of the greatest documentaries I have ever seen. (DAILY EXPRESS) The kindness of all concerned, the inventive genius of Ian Jackson 's surgical team ana, most of all, the sheer pluck and will to live of the little boy will haunt the memory for years to come. (DAILY MAIL) Every penny, every moment of time, every inch of film spent on the making of this unforgettable
Desmond Wilcox documentary was justified last night. It was all so moving, tears alone didn't seem enough. (GLASGOW EVENING TIMES) An extraordinary story of tremendous compassion and determination and an unusual and moving tribute to the warmth of human kindness. (DAILY TELEGRAPH) Director ALEX MCCALL
