Binda Rai visited Southall to find out how the community has responded to the particular needs of such women and in a film report she talks to a victim of domestic violence, a Hindu preacher and a women's legal rights worker. In the second part of their
Canadian tour, HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh were in Toronto and Winnipeg celebrating some of the country's many anniversaries this year. For
The Queen, there was a touch of nostalgia as she sailed in Britannia up the St Lawrence Seaway, which she herself opened in 1959 to link the Atlantic Ocean with the Great Lakes.

from Euston
London's Euston is a place to hurry through: an area of railways and roads, of cheap hotels and down-at-heel housing, of office blocks and institutions. But for many people it's home, a place to care about and a place to live out their faith.
Rosemary Hartill takes a look at how the church copes in the city, and meets some of the local residents. Maria Smart has lived in the area for over 40 years. She tells Rosemary about the pleasure of coming back to church after a long absence caused by her divorce. John Gaffey talks about the pleasure he gets working at Euston Station, and children from Argyll School reflect on their different faiths. Together they sing their Songs of Praise with Christians from the churches of Euston and King's Cross, in New St Pancras Parish Church.
Fill your hearts with joy and gladness (Regent Square); When I survey the wondrous cross (Rockingham); Morning has broken (Bunessan); Godspell medley; Lord for tomorrow (Providence); When I needed a neighbour; Thy hand, 0 God, has guided (Thornbury); The day thou gavest (St Clement)
