Turning the Mersey Tide?
In Liverpool battle has been joined between a Labour Council which refuses to reduce its budget, and the Government which is committed to restrain public spending. Beneath the immediate wrangle lies the deeper question of how to help our declining inner cities. Three years ago the riots in Liverpool gave a dramatic focus to the problem: urgent action was proposed and imaginative schemes devised. But what's happened since? Philip Tibenham reports on the progress of the efforts to turn the tide.

The feature film starring
Peter Fonda , Susan George
It's action all the way in this 'road movie', which features some of the screen's most brilliant and exciting stunts and car chases. Racing driver Larry Rayder and his mechanic Deke rob a supermarket and get more than they bargained for. Along with 150,000 dollars comes Mary Coombs -who foils all attempts to be got rid of. The result is a lively combination of romance, comedy and action - and a surprise ending.
