starring Burt Lancaster
Tony Curtis , Susan Harrison
In this savage version of the yellow press, Burt Lancaster stars as J. J. Hunsecker , a vicious, megalomaniac New York gossip columnist read by millions and sought after by both the famous and the infamous. When he decides to break up his sister's romance with a young jazz musician, his hatchet man is Sidney Falco, a scheming press agent hungry for success and willing to go to any extreme to get items into Hunsecker's column. Alexander Mackendrick brilliantly directed this melodramatic slice of Broadway life.
