The last of three award-winning films about the wildlife of the Andes, narrated by Andrew Sachs. Down the Amazon
Chimborazo Cotopaxi, Antisana-an avenue of the greatest volcanoes in the world strides across the equator pointing vast ice-caps into the tropical sky. Every day, as the sun climbs, ice thaws and the waters of the Amazon begin to roll.
This programme follows the course of the greatest river in the world three miles vertically down through cloud forest and gorge to the steaming jungle. It portrays in dramatic detail the complex life of the trees and rivers of the Amazon rainforest-home of gorgeous birds and innumerable monkeys, the piranha and even a bat that catches frogs.

with The Boys' Brigade from Romsey Abbey
Tonight's Songs of Praise, like many of those which have gone before, is a celebration of an anniversary but tonight it's not the more obvious celebration of eight centuries of a cathedral's life or of a parish church's existence; it is the anniversary of a small but very special organisation which began in a Sunday School in the centre of Glasgow 100 years ago: The Boys' Brigade
Tonight's programme comes from south of the border where Geoffrey Wheeler meets some of The Boys' Brigade's newest recruits and some of its older ones, notably Charles Quick , who joined over 59 years ago. They have come from companies all over Hampshire to the rugged beauty of Romsey Abbey to celebrate their centenary year.
Come and see the shining hope (Marching through Georgia): The Angel greeted Mary (Es ist ein' Ros' entsprungen); Now thank we all our God (Nun Danket); Make me a channel of your peace: Seek ye first the kingdom of God: Guide me, 0 thou great Jehovah (Cwm Rhondda): Amazing grace; Come, thou Redeemer of the earth Conductor DON WEST

Every May since 1945, literally thousands of young people have converged on central London for a weekend together. Singing, dancing, arguing, praying; all coming together in what is now the largest Christian rally for young people in Europe. It's the London Weekend of the Methodist Association of Youth Clubs.
This filmed impression of the 1983 event records two hectic days in London, the months of rehearsal for more than 1,000 performers and the climax of their work in front of a capacity audience in the Royal Albert Hall.
