The last of three award-winning films about the wildlife of the Andes, narrated by Andrew Sachs. Down the Amazon
Chimborazo Cotopaxi, Antisana-an avenue of the greatest volcanoes in the world strides across the equator pointing vast ice-caps into the tropical sky. Every day, as the sun climbs, ice thaws and the waters of the Amazon begin to roll.
This programme follows the course of the greatest river in the world three miles vertically down through cloud forest and gorge to the steaming jungle. It portrays in dramatic detail the complex life of the trees and rivers of the Amazon rainforest-home of gorgeous birds and innumerable monkeys, the piranha and even a bat that catches frogs.
