Comment from one of the workforce on a Community Programme scheme for the long-term unemployed in Liverpool. One hundred and forty of them are refurbishing a rundown council estate in Bootle. It's work that needs doing and they need the jobs, but on this scheme they can only work for 12 months. It's ' just a cosmetic cover-up of the dole figures the men claim.
