Destiny by DAVID EDGAR
The death of a Conservative MP causes a bye-election in a West Midlands town. At first, the campaign between the major parties follows a familiar pattern. But an extreme right-wing racialist party intervenes, a strike by Asian foundry-workers becomes an election issue, and the campaign approaches a bitter and violent climax.
