Last year it was the bronze medal for ROBIN COUSINS - tonight it could be the gold. He is certainly the best and most exciting free skater in Europe and providing his earlier results have left him in contention, his five-minute free-skating programme will be the biggest test yet of his nerve and character.
News too of the Ice Dancing competition in which WARREN MAXWELL and JANET THOMPSON will be carrying British hopes.

Everyone a Special Kind of Artist In 1976 Omnibus showed a film about the print and poster-maker
Ken Sprague.
It provoked an enormously enthusiastic public response.
Tonight KEN SPRAGUE visits Glasgow and four men who are artists in their spare time.
Bobby Starrett and Roy Fitzsimmons are shipyard workers on the Clyde. Brian McGeogh and Archie Forrest are teachers.
Each is a passionately committed artist and each in his own way illustrates the statement of Eric Gill: 'An artist is not a special kind of man; everyone is a special kind of artist.'
