In 1940 when Holland was invaded Johanna-Ruth Dobschiner a Jewish girl nearly 15 years old, was living with her family in Amsterdam.
By 1944 her two brothers and both her parents had been taken by the Nazis, and Johanna-Ruth was hidden in a house in north Holland. living ' underground.' On Easter Day that year, she came to know that Jesus Christ was, and is. alive - a realisation which has fundamentally altered the rest of her life.
In this programme she tells part of her story.

DR SEGERMAN came to the North West of England from New York ten years ago to pursue his career as a ' soap scientist.' Now he lives and works in Manchester, combining his research work and his job as a university careers adviser with a passion for early English music.
He sees the North West not only as the home of industry and of scientific reseaTch but also as a centre for art and music. He sets out to demonstrate how he combines his career and crafts in a way which would have been impossible in New York.
