...a rather special sort. They act with a stethoscope instead of a fountain pen, but they do very well indeed.
The title of tonight's documentary, coined by Her Majesty's Ambassador in Saigon, describes the British Paediatric Team, in action at South Vietnam's only children's hospital.
The man who has led these doctors and nurses from Britain through the Tet Offensive and the continuing battle against suffering, starvation, and ignorance is a consultant from Somerset, John Apley.

Michael Caine introduces the last of four programmes devoted to the early films from television's prize-winning director.

Made for Monitor in 1962, Elgar has proved the most popular of all Ken Russell's television films.
Old newsreel film, photographs, and specially shot material are combined with Eigar's music to reconstruct the life of this great English composer. The film won Ken Russell his first Screen-writers' Guild Award for the best documentary film script of the year.
The commentary is by Huw Wheldon.

The World Council of Churches, now meeting in Sweden, owes a great deal of its character to two Englishmen:
William Temple, the Anglican Archbishop, and William Paton, a Presbyterian

Both died before their dream was realised. Tonight the formidable partnership of the 'two Williams' is remembered by:
A.C. Craig, an ex-moderator of the Church of Scotland, who was first Secretary of the British Council of Churches
Kathleen Bliss, sometime Editor of The Christian Newsletter
David Paton, of the Ecumenical Council of the Church Assembly
