Malcolm Muggeridge accompanied this year's pilgrimage of the Society of Our Lady of Lourdes.
The sick pilgrims go in the hope, perhaps secret, but not the expectation of a miraculous cure. 'One can ask but one cannot demand'. Like them, the film avoids arguments about miracles, and concentrates on the pilgrims' experience of Lourdes.
